Product photography · Brooklyn, NY

you want photos as good as the thing you made. here’s how it happens.

I’m the one behind the camera at Fennel Row. You ship me your mugs, candles, wallets or jars — or we set up a remote session and you art-direct from your own bench — and I send back a finished, marketplace-ready gallery. Packages run $350 to $1,400, and you see the number before anything ships.

what I’m actually lighting

Nobody buys a hand-thrown mug because it looks perfect. They buy the thumbprint in the glaze, the drip you almost sanded off. My whole job is lighting the part that proves a person made it.

No. 02 — packages

pick the size of your box.

Every package is one flat, written number. I count your products, you see the invoice, then you ship. Each price covers styling props from my shelves, the full edit, and four crops of every hero frame — so the same shoot fills your Etsy listing, your Shopify banner and your Instagram grid.

No. 03 — the route

how a box on my doorstep becomes your gallery.

I keep the whole thing small on purpose. One person reads your brief, unpacks your work, builds the set, and edits the files — so the gallery comes back looking like the piece you actually made.

Start with the twenty-minute call
  1. Day one

    a twenty-minute call

You tell me about the piece, where it sells, and what your current photos keep getting wrong. I send back a one-page shot list and the flat price for your package.

  2. Whenever you’re ready

ship it, or set a remote date

Pack it with the checklist below and send it to the studio. Can’t part with a one-off? Book a remote art-directed session and we shoot while you watch and steer over video.

  3. 3–5 days after arrival

    set day

I unbox on camera so there’s a record of how everything arrived, then build each set from paper, linen, slate and props that suit your palette. Window light first; strobes when the weather won’t cooperate.

  4. 3–4 days

    the edit

I cull, then color-match with your actual product sitting beside the monitor. Dust and seams get retouched. Maker marks, tool lines and glaze drips stay exactly where you left them.

  5. Day 7–12

your gallery, and your box home

A private gallery link with full-resolution files, web exports and every crop. Your pieces travel back double-boxed and insured, with the packing note you sent them in.

No. 04 — the specs

the fine print, set in big type.

Starting price $350

gets you one product, eight finished frames and the white-ground cut.

Crops per hero frame 4

square, 4:5, 16:9 and a clean cut-out for marketplaces.

Long edge 3,000px

sharpened so a shopper’s zoom finds the grain, not the pixels.

Reshoot window 14days

after delivery, any frame that misses the shot list gets reshot. Just tell me which.

Files are yours to use on your shop, socials, wholesale sheets and press kits. I only ask before putting a frame in my own portfolio.

No. 05 — start a shoot

you’ve made the thing. let’s get it into the light.

Fill in the note, or just call. I read every enquiry myself and reply within one business day with a shot list and a flat number — nothing ships until you’ve said yes to both.

what goes in your box

  1. Two of each piece, if you can spare them — one stays pristine for the hero frame, one gets handled, poured, lit and turned.
  2. Your packaging, tissue and labels. They’re props. Shoppers want to see what arrives on their doorstep.
  3. A color note. If a glaze or dye has to be exact, tuck in a swatch or a paint chip and I’ll match to it.
  4. Fragile work double-boxed, two inches of padding on every side. I film the unboxing for your records either way.
  5. Perishables? Tell me first. Sauces, baked goods and fresh florals get a same-week set date so nothing sits.

what makers ask before they ship

Do I need to be in Brooklyn — or there at all?

No. Most of my makers never set foot in the studio. Ship-in works on a shot list we agree up front; if you want to steer in real time, the remote session puts you on a video call beside the camera.

What if a piece arrives broken?

I unbox on camera, so you and your carrier get footage of exactly how it arrived. We’ll pause that product and either shoot a replacement or credit it on the invoice.

What if I don’t like the photos?

You get a preview contact sheet before I edit. After delivery, any frame that misses the agreed shot list is reshot within 14 days at no charge.

Is $385 really worth it for one product?

If that product is your bestseller, its main image is the most-seen thing in your shop. One careful set gives you a white-ground main image, styled listing shots and social crops you’ll use for years.
